Methode Electronics offers a 68-position, low profile, Cardbus connector. It allows the shroud to be embedded in the frame kit and is for use with ultrasonically welded cardbus frame kits. The contact design withstands repeated card insertions in excess of 10,000 cycles. The receptacle meets PC card standards. Materials are compatible with high temperature solder processes. The insulator is a UL 94V-O rated LCP. The contacts and shroud are made of a copper alloy and have a gold flash with more than 40 micro-inches of palladium nickel plating on all mating surfaces.
