Tool Grinding Technologies Inc offers a Carbide Rod Cutting Machine. The advantages of using the carbide rod cutting machine are: wet grinding – no carbide dust and no need to use industrial mask; no necessity for face grinding after cutting; wheel life of 10,000 cuts of 12 dia approx; low cost for cutting of the solid carbide rod; recovery of carbide powder from the machine by keeping the coolant under sunlight; manual cutting infeed of the grinding wheel; and dry cutting changes the micron structure at the face of the blank. Specifications of the machine: spindle power – 0.75 HP; min-max solid carbide dia to be cut – 1 mm-32 mm dia; type of wheel for cutting – dia 200 mm, 1mm thick diamond wheel; clamping – manual; coolant – water based emulsion; and coolant tank volume – approx 80 litres.
