Abhar Engineering offers Leeson brake motors for fail-safe stopping power. In nearly 70 off the shelf ratings from 1/3 through 7 1/2 HP (.25 through 5.5 kW), Leeson brake motors provide stop and hold security for conveyors, hoists or other applications requiring fail safe protection in the event of a power loss to the electric motor. Spring set brakes, in ratings matched to motor output, are pre connected to the motor for ease of installation and safety of operation. In the event of a power failure, the brake will set, holding the load securely. Single phase totally enclosed fan cooled designs, with Nema C face mountings and base, are stocked in sizes from 1/3 through 1 HP (.25 through .75 kW). Three phase designs are offered in TEFC or drip proof enclosures in base mounted and Nema C face versions from 1/3 through 7 1/2 HP (.25 through 5.5 kW). In addition, the company offers an array of Brakekits, which allow for field -conversion of many sizes of general purpose TEFC motors to brake motors. Double Nema C face coupler brakes are also available in standard and washdown duty versions.
