Brake Motors

Brake motors from Amber Engineering Enterprise are asynchronous three phase or single phase totally enclosed fan cooled motors. Brake motors provide the means of slowing or stopping the driven job safely and effectively in a very short time period. The brake units (AC or DC) are mounted on the non-drive end of the motor. They are spring applied electrically released units which provide fail safe operating characteristics such that on the failure of the power supply the brake will engage and arrest the load. In DC brake motors the brake coil is fed via rectifier having AC input power supply. These motors are available in B3 (Foot), B5 (Flange) and B14 (Face) mountings from frame size 63 to 132 in 2, 4, 6 and 8 poles. In addition to all these design features, Amber brake motors can benefit from customised engineering to match specific mechanical and electrical customer needs.
