Brakes India is a TVS Group company, specialising in the manufacturing of automotive braking systems. A joint venture between TVS Group and TRW Inc., USA, the company makes braking systems components. The range comprises callipers, drum brakes, actuation, valves, hoses, electro magnetic retarder, brake fluid (Dot 3 and Dot 4 specifications), radiator coolant, brake cleaner, permanent mould ferrous dies coating, GI and SG castings, and engineering plastic compounds (ABS and VSC). Having three main division – Brake division, foundry division and polymer division, the company has a well equipped manufacturing infrastructure comprising ten facilities. Ensuring consistent global quality standards through selective integration of critical components, the braking system products are supplied to OE clients primarily. An TS 16949, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certified company, Brakes India has been granted the TPM special award for manufacturing excellence. The manufacturing infrastructure also includes an R&D facility with various design capabilities and NVH test rigs for product validation. The brake callipers make a crucial part of the vehicle's braking system. They squeeze the brake pads against the surface of the brake rotor in a disc brake to slow or stop the vehicle.
