ETA Technology offers a Ball Turning and Burnishing Machine. This machine is designed for ball turning and burnishing operations on components like inner ball joint, outer ball joint and ball valves. It consists of a steel fabricated frame, which is mounted with one spindle head for job rotation and the other a rotary spindle head for the tool and burnishing roller. The sphericity achieved is 4µ mm, surface finish within 0.1µ Ra and diameter within 15µ mm. A hydraulic power pack is built into the bottom of the frame for job clamping through collet. The electrical cabinet is built into the frame at its side and a centralized lube unit is provided. A total enclosure with hinged and sliding doors provides for operator safety. The machine runs in auto cycle for both turning and burnishing operations with manual loading and unloading. A chip chute, provided in the frame, directs the chips to the chip bin kept at the rear of the machine. The machine has a PLC based servo motor control system. As a special feature the tool position for various diameters can be set by servomotor – it is done by just entering the diameter of job to be turned. The company has used 802D controller with 3-axis 1FK042 with analog spindle .
