PLA has introduced a new autoranging multimeter DM14AR. The salient features are its long term spares availability, low cost serviceability and well protected design. Generally spares availability depends on main IC going obsolete or if made from imported kits, it depends on stocks getting over. This DMM is using standard IC rather than any custom or obsolete IC. The rotary switch is replaceable and PCB is non-PTH. Thus repairs do not require replacement of the entire PCB which makes DMM serviceable at low cost. Apart from ordinary fuse protection in current range, its ohms range is protected to withstand continuous voltage by PTC. This DMM is backed by 30 years of industrial and defence experience. It automatically selects the right range while measuring voltage (up to 1,000 V DC/75O V AC) and resistance (up to 20 MW). It is able to measure current up to 10 A AC or DC. A continuity buzzer is provided. Basic DCV accuracy is 0.5%. The display is a 3-1/2-digit LCD with annunciators. It operates on two 1.5 V pencil cells.
