Computer Boards Inc, USA, announces the new CI0-DAS16/M1, high speed, 8 channel, 1 MHz analogue input card. It supports 1 MHz of continuous input to a Mega-FIFO accessory card through DT- Connect, pre-trigger and post-trigger buffers of unlimited size, a 256 step programmable channel/gain queue, 24 lines of digital I/O and three 16 bit counters. Augmenting the powerful speed of the card is its ability to transfer huge blocks of data when using the companion Mega-FIFO board. By attaching a fully loaded Mega-FIFO, up to 128 megasamples of sampling data can be stored at top speed--the most on the market. The DT-Connect feature enables such large blocks of data to be transferred to the sampling buffer card at the full-speed of the board. Users of Windows application software will want this superb feature as sample transfers occasion no delays in concurrent programs. A precise 12-bit analogue-to-digital converter transforms high speed analogue signals into their digital representation. This 1 MHz 0.8 uS A/D converter resolves the data to an accurate 1 part in 4,095. Without the Mega-FIFO, acquisition speeds of 800 kHz to system memory are attainable through use of the REPINSW command and the on-board 1 K FIFO. Analogue input ranges are software programmable. The unique programming flexibility of the 256-byte channel gain queue allows analogue inputs to be sampled at different ranges on different channels. Twenty four lines of digital I/O and three 16-bit counters are accessible through a 50-pin dual in-line connector on the rear of the card. The I/O lines may be used for relay closure to turn on motors and valves or latch signals into an analogue input channel of the card. The precision counters support sample pacing or event counting. The CI0-DAS16/M1 uses a standard 37-pin connector which is compatible to the original DAS-16. This makes speed or sampling upgrades convenient and easy as there is no need to change the existing wiring to sensors; performance is enhanced by merely replacing the older DAS-16 board with the CI0-DAS16/M1. InstaCal, supplied free, is a software package which installs, calibrates and tests all computer boards cards. For programmers, the Universal Library is an easy to use software library supporting all languages for all the company's products in DOS and Windows.
