Air Springs

Firestone TVS is a joint venture between Firestone Industrial Products Company LLC, USA, and Sundaram Industries. The company manufactures air springs for automotive and industrial applications with a wide product variety to meet the most demanding applications. The air springs are made at the company's well equipped manufacturing infrastructure at Madurai in South India. The air springs are highly engineered elastomeric bellows with specially designed metal enclosures that contain a column of compressed air. The bellow is made of calendered and high strength fabric reinforced rubber. Reversible sleeve or convoluted style, it operates on the principle that a column of gas confined within a container, allowing it to use the contained pressure to generate force. In case of the air spring, the gas is air and the container is a sealed fabric reinforced rubber bellow, or sleeve.
