AG Measurematics offers AC LVDT, AGX Series. This is a precision gauging transducer used for accurate dimensional gauging applications. This transducer is fitted with viton gaiters (bellows) to exclude moisture and dust. Viton is chemically inert to cutting fluids, so this type can be used "on-line" during machining operations. The linear variable differential transformer (LVDT) displacement measurement principle has penetrated many sectors of industry and research because it is both robust and maintenance free. The dial gauges is replaced with this precision transducer. The tip pushes outwards under the influence of an internal spring. Brief specifications: available range - ± 1 to ± 10 mm; linearity - 0.4% FSR; temperature range: -10 to +60°C; and excitation - 1 to 10 V rms, 2 kHz. The areas of application vary from precision measurement in the mm range to simple displacement monitoring during manufacturing and assembly or supervision of construction projects.
