Plug Quenching

Plug Quenching

CP Agencies offers Plug Quenching. Plug Quenching is employed for limiting the distortion and ovality of thin-walled components while hardening. During quenching, it is held between dies under a controlled force , while a plug of appropriate dimensions is inserted into the component. Typical components processed in such machines are synchronising rings, gear shifter sleeves, etc. When thin and flat components are to be hardened ‘Press Quenching’ is employed to maintain the flatness while hardening. During quenching it is held under a controlled force. The discs of ‘disc-brakes’ are generally hardened in such press quenching machines. Plug quenching and Press quenching machines are available with automatic loading and unloading features. The transfer from heating to the quench station is also automatic to ensure consistent process parameters.
