Sai Surface Coating Technologies has established India’s largest (5 kW) Direct Diode Laser Job Shop facility for undertaking laser cladding and laser heat treatment. Laser cladding process is a superior process of adding material to a substrate to enhance surface properties, due to low and controlled heat input leads to almost negligible heat affected zone (HAZ) and distortion which will enable very good wear characteristics of cladding deposit with controlled dilution rates and better metallurgical bonding. Lesser thickness (1 mm) cladding deposition is sufficient of material comparatively other cladding technologies. Laser hardening is a process by which hardening can be effected in specific areas and with better control. Large size parts can also be hardened without much difficulty. The closed loop system available in the machine will precisely control the temperature of hardening all throughout the job and process. The company specialises in surface modification techniques and precision machining technologies. It offers diverse surface modification technologies spanning detonation spray process, high velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) process, plasma spray, flame spray, wire arc, spray and fuse processes, plasma ion nitriding and hard facings etc, in addition to wide-spread utility precision machining and grinding facilities - a one-stop shop service for every engineering requirement.
