Icon Engineers offers a unique product – Transformers with built-in HT Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR). The incoming supply from the `grid’ sometimes fluctuates widely and after the installation of standard distribution transformer the customer faces low/high voltage problem on the LT side affecting the rated voltage of the machines, resulting in damaging motor and other sophisticated equipment. The standard off-circuit tappings of the transformers can correct limited voltage variations and cannot regulate the voltage while in `on load’ condition. These transformers with Built-in HT Automatic Voltage Regulators operate on load steplessly and can also be installed either indoor or outdoor. The equipment is basically a combination of standard distribution transformer and HT automatic voltage regulator. The incoming fluctuating HT supply is initially stabilised then fed to transformer and thereby the LT output is maintained within ±1% accuracy. The design is robust and needs no regular maintenance as such. Advantages of built-in automatic voltage regulator: reduced installation cost, space saving, better efficiency, reduction in electricity bill, protection of motors, etc. Specifications: throughput capacity up to – 10000 kVA, 33 kV, 3-phase; voltage primary – variable HT input; voltage secondary – stabilised LT, output – +1%, e.g., voltage primary – 8 to 12 kV, 3-phase 50 Hz, voltage secondary – stabilised at 415 V±1% 3-phase 50 Hz; and capacity – 1000 kVA.
