The unit comprises of two identical shell and tube heat exchangers mounted on a common framework, one acting as a standby while the other is in operation. These are employed with continuously acting units such as turbines, processing units and power generation units. When the performance of the operating unit deteriorates due to fouling or it has some maintenance problem, this unit is taken out of service after switching it to the standby unit. The unit can be supplied with changeover valve and isolation valves with complete piping.
