General properties of PTFE: chemical inertness to all known organic and inorganic chemicals; resistance to solvents, insoluble in all solvents up to 260°C; wide operating temperature range from -270°C to +260°C; non-toxic, non-flammable; lowest co-efficient of friction among all known metals and non-metals; self lubricating; negligible water absorption; resistance to radiation; excellent weathering resistance; non-stick, non-wetting; outstanding electrical properties over a wide frequency range; and excellent sealing.
