Armour is a closed cell extruded EPE foam that is of light weight, tough and durable, flexible and resilient, highly shock absorbent, non-toxic, odourless, water and water vapour proof, fungi and insect resistant, and chemical resistant. Advantages: thickness available – 0.85 to 10 mm and above in roll form; planks available – 15 to 100 mm and higher thickness customised; variants available – with length, width, thickness, density, or lamination (e.g., LM/ML) specified; and colours available – natural, black or as specified. Compared to EPS, EPE is: less rigid and hence absorbs shocks better; non-abrasive; non-brittle and non-dusting; and does not require moulds (as required when making fitments from EPS).
