Four of these five newly launched air compressors are developed in India. These new range is aimed at saving energy and is designed for applications in the food processing sector.

 

Atlas Copco, the Swedish industrial company that provides sustainable productivity solutions, has launched specially designed five new air compressors for the small and medium scale business units (SMEs). This new range includes piston air compressors, screw air compressors, and on-site nitrogen generator series to cater to the changing demands of customers from different sectors across India. The key industry segments which will benefit from these compressed air solutions are food and beverages, cement, textile, foundry & forging, general engineering, metal, auto & ancillaries, paper and many more.

 

This range of new innovative products will enhance customers’ productivity and help reduce energy consumption. Amongst the five products, GA 75-110 VSD+ is a variable speed drive oil-injected screw air compressor which is an ideal choice for fluctuating demands of customer applications and can save upto 50 per cent of energy costs. GA 75-110 VSD+ has integrated  Elektronikon - most intelligent microprocessor for advanced monitoring, control and connectivity, thus providing customers peace of mind  by remaining connected with the machine at all times. It has a magnetically fixed pre-filter that enables the application for handling high dust. G 15-22 and GA 15-22, are fixed speed oil-injected screw air compressors with the revolutionary new screw element. These products are intended to reduce energy consumption and provide higher uptime.The cast iron piston series, ATC, ranging from 3 hP to 10 hP is coupled with IP55 motor that is known for reliability and can function in operating temperatures up to 46°C.  

 

In Nitrogen generator segment, Atlas Copco’s new NGMs 1-3 membrane technology units offer efficient, compact and simple low-cost on-site solution for low-flow N2 requirements with benefits of minimal maintenance and operational costs. These generators comes with a wall mounting option. Conrad Latham, General Manager, Compressor Technique, Atlas Copco India, said, “We are introducing a range of new products built at our state-of-the-art Chakan factory at Pune. The compressors in piston and screw technologies are a result of Atlas Copco’s continued commitment to reduce their energy bills in line with the governments focus on energy efficiency.”

 

Color sortex machines are now becoming standardised compared to previous decade. “One of our focus areas is agro-business like rice sortex, cashew sortex and Apple sortex. In the agro-processing arena, the sortex machines are mostly operational for 5-6 months in a year and if their compressors are not working, would result in huge losses. Our products are known to be reliable,“ informed Latham.

“We are sure that some segments will be of our special focus in the coming years like steel, glass and cement as government is driving through their infrastructure growth initiatives.  Machines like dumpers, loaders and tractors will grow in the coming years with the infrastructure growth” said Latham while speaking on future plans.

 

 The piston design of the compressor is originally from Brazil and is refined further in India. While the original technology for energy-efficient compressor was developed in Belgium. He also said that compared to all Atlas’s previous air compressors the newly launched save around 4-8 per cent of energy.”
