Yaanendriya Raises Rs 150 million to Scale Indigenous Navigation Systems

The deep-tech company will strengthen R&D, accelerate product development and expand high-precision navigation systems for mission-critical applications.

Yaanendriya, a Bengaluru-based deep-tech company developing indigenous sensor, navigation and control technologies for mobile robots and critical applications, has raised Rs 150 million from Piper Serica, a Mumbai-based venture capital fund investing in deep-tech startups.

The company will use the capital to strengthen research and development, accelerate product development and expand its portfolio of high-precision navigation systems for mission-critical environments.

Yaanendriya develops core sensor and control platforms that enable autonomous systems, including drones, ground robots, spacecraft and underwater vehicles, to sense motion, estimate their state and maintain control. These technologies are designed to operate even when the Global Navigation Satellite System is unavailable, unreliable or intentionally disrupted.

Its SynCore navigation controllers combine inputs from multiple sensors to estimate orientation, position and velocity while supporting real-time stabilisation and control. SynCore is deployed by robotics companies across aerial, ground and underwater applications in defence, surveillance and agriculture.

The company’s high-precision YDX inertial sensor series is deployed across four continents in applications including motion capture for gaming, unmanned vehicles and surgical robots, demonstrating the versatility and global relevance of its sensor technologies.

Building on its work with government and private commercial customers, Yaanendriya is developing SynCore for space and critical navigation missions. These include attitude determination and control for satellites and orbital platforms, as well as navigation and control for underwater vehicles operating in GNSS-denied environments.

The company is also developing a hardware-agnostic platform for navigation and control algorithms, designed for portability across different hardware configurations and mission profiles.

Together, these initiatives form the technological foundation for Yaanendriya’s longer-term ambition to develop high-precision micro-electromechanical systems accelerometers and gyroscopes for critical aerospace and autonomous systems. The company also aims to strengthen India’s indigenous capabilities in sensing, navigation and control across air, land, underwater and space applications.

Yaanendriya’s multidisciplinary founding team combines expertise in control systems, product engineering, advanced manufacturing, industrial design and business building. Vamshi Bharadwaj M V leads technology, Vyshak Y leads manufacturing, Vijay H P leads design, and Aravind Thumbur, an IIM Ahmedabad alumnus with more than a decade of entrepreneurial experience, leads business and growth.

The company is guided by its chief adviser, Prof S N Omkar of the Indian Institute of Science, and was incubated at ARTPARK, a deep-tech venture builder created by IISc.

Vamshi Bharadwaj M V, Founder, Yaanendriya, said, “Reliable autonomy begins with a system’s ability to sense motion, understand its state and control itself. We started with navigation controllers, expanded into high-precision inertial sensing, and are now bringing these capabilities together for increasingly demanding environments where conventional navigation may not be reliable.

“This funding will help us scale SynCore and YDX, strengthen our navigation and control platform, and begin developing indigenous MEMS sensors for the next generation of manned and unmanned platforms.”

Satyadeep Singh, Piper Serica, said, “Autonomous systems will define the next generation of defence, aerospace, industrial automation and mobility, but their foundation lies in technologies that enable machines to sense, navigate and control themselves reliably.

“At Piper Serica, we back founders building foundational technologies where hardware, software and firmware come together as a scalable platform. Yaanendriya’s long-term technology roadmap and execution capabilities gave us the conviction that it can build a globally competitive navigation technology company from India.”
