Leifeld Metal Spinning has launched the world's largest Flow-Forming Machine, the ST 650 H 9100, allowing high-precision flow forming tubes over 13 metres long. Within the scope of an international invitation to tender, Leifeld succeeded against fierce competition with its convincing innovative power and excellent price-performance ratio, and four critical requirements: variable forming lengths, quality of manufacture, flexibility for different applications, and economy of production.

Until now, simple parts worked with low precision technologies. With this pioneering technology, Leifeld has established new standards by allowing tube forming in forward flow-forming up to 9 m and in reverse flow-forming of 13 m and more. This new flow-forming machine meets the requirements for high-precision forming within the narrowest tolerances. The broad range of potential applications includes the largest possible range of tubes, with diameters from 60 mm to 650 mm, and a maximum tube weight of 4 tonnes.

One of the customer's most important requirements was that flow forming be economical. With a production capacity of more than two tubes per hour at high quality, e.g., 34CrMo4 (1.7220), Leifeld provides a decisive cost advantage.
