Workroom Automation Raises Rs 62 Mn to Scale AI Factory Platform

Workroom Automation secures Rs 6.2 million seed funding to enhance its AI-driven factory platform, enabling real-time planning, automation and connected manufacturing operations.
Workroom Automation, a connected factory platform building the intelligence and automation layer for manufacturing, has raised Rs 62 million in a seed funding round led by Equirus InnovateX Fund. The round also saw participation from Astir Ventures, Venture Catalysts Group, and angel investors including Bhavik Dholakia (Swatantra Wealth), Vishal Shah (Shah Invest), Dr Varun Patel, Dr. Viraj Lavingia, and Bhavin Sodavadiya (Bhagwat Realty). This marks the company’s first institutional fundraise since inception, at a time when manufacturers are moving beyond fragmented systems and manual coordination towards intelligent, automated operations.
The funds will be used to accelerate product development, strengthen the platform, and scale go-to-market efforts. Key priorities include advancing the proprietary Workroom AI Planning Engine, expanding automation capabilities, and building deeper integrations across ERP, MES, and shopfloor systems. The company will also invest in enterprise sales, strategic partnerships, and enhancing implementation, customer success, and delivery capabilities to support scale.
Manufacturing operations today rely on fragmented systems, including ERP, MES, machines, spreadsheets, and manual processes, limiting real-time decision-making and responsiveness. Workroom addresses this by acting as a central intelligence layer that connects and contextualises data across the factory, enabling automated decision-making. Unlike traditional MES or siloed Industry 4.0 tools focused on visibility, Workroom functions as a system of intelligent execution, driving real-time orchestration across operations.
Workroom Automation was founded by Abhinav Atthota, CEO & Co-founder, and Rohan Agarwal, CTO & Co-founder, with a vision to transform how global manufacturing operations are planned, executed, and automated through a unified intelligence layer.

At the core of the platform is its AI-powered planning engine, which converts complex, high-mix demand into optimised daily production plans in real time. It dynamically adjusts to constraints such as machine availability, material flow, method deviation and workforce changes. Processes that traditionally required hours of manual planning are completed in seconds, helping manufacturers improve capacity utilisation, reduce delays, and ensure reliable execution.
Workroom is already seeing early traction, with deployments across multiple factories of manufacturing enterprises in automotive, electronics, industrial machinery, and consumer goods. Customers are increasingly adopting the platform as a single source of operational intelligence, with several expanding deployments and integrating Workroom into long-term digital transformation initiatives.
In the near term, the company aims to deepen its presence among medium and large discrete manufacturing enterprises by scaling deployments across multiple factories per enterprise and delivering higher operational value. It is also advancing capabilities in agentic planning, root cause analysis, and orchestration to enable autonomous factory operations.
Looking ahead, Workroom aims to become a unified operating system for global manufacturers, offering a core platform with vertical-specific solutions that enable end-to-end factory operations and fully automated, self-driven manufacturing ecosystems.
