The countdown is on! At the world's leading trade show for waste and raw materials management, WEIMA Maschinenbau GmbH will present the PowerLine 3000 single-shaft shredder to the public. It will be equipped with an innovative and 250 kW strong H?gglunds-Bosch-Rexroth hydraulic drive. IFAT, the world's leading trade fair for water, sewage, waste and raw materials management, will take place between May 5 and May 9, 2014 at Munich, Germany.

Weighing in at 40 tonnes, the PowerLine 3000 is three meters in working width, and almost seven meters from floor to the top of the hopper. It ranks among the largest shredding machines manufactured by the Ilsfeld-based mechanical engineering company. The versatile shredder is part of the prosperous PowerLine shredder series. In addition to the PowerLine 3000, there is also a PowerLine 2000 and 2500 in compliance with smaller working widths. Each machine can be fed by wheel loader, gripper or conveyor belt. Regardless of whether the machine is used as a single-stage solution or as a high-output secondary shredder in multi-stage processing, the PowerLine can cope with various fractions, also with highly contaminated materials. This includes industrial waste, bulky waste, production waste, rejects, paper, wood waste, textiles or carpet. WEIMA delivers the optimum size reduction results.

Whenever contaminated material needs to be shredded, hydraulic drives have a definite advantage. Due to the fact that there is no classic gearbox being exposed to wear and shocks, they perform more responsively and less insensitive to foreign materials such as heavy metal parts.

A hydraulic drive also works very efficiently wherever extremely high cutting force is required. This can be the case when it comes to shredding PP, filaments, multifilaments or big bags, made possible by a high torque and breakaway torque. Hydraulic drives are extremely flexible. Since the rotor speed can be adjusted steplessly, the shredder is optimally designed for the material to be shredded (no matter if it is hard, soft, solid or fibrous.)
