TRUMPF Launches High-Performance TruLaser Tube 7000 System

At the Tube trade show, TRUMPF is presenting its new TruLaser Tube 7000 laser tube cutting machine, designed to deliver higher productivity. With nine kilowatts of laser power, the machine processes greater wall thicknesses at high speed using nitrogen as the cutting gas. For eight-millimetre-thick mild steel, productivity increases by up to 30 per cent and feed rates by up to 150 per cent, enabling higher throughput and lower costs per part. The system also enhances flexibility by allowing the processing of greater wall thicknesses.

Flexibility is further improved through an extended outer circle. According to TRUMPF Product Manager Lucas Stix, users require both high speed and accuracy for small diameters, as well as the ability to process large diameters with significant wall thicknesses on the same machine. The TruLaser Tube 7000 addresses these requirements, with an increased maximum tube size and wall thickness compared to its predecessor. With an outer circle of 290 millimetres, the machine processes square tubes up to 203.2 × 203.2 millimetres, round tubes with diameters of 273 millimetres, and rectangular tubes with side lengths of up to 254 millimetres. It also cuts small tubes with diameters of 12 millimetres or more with high precision and speed.

To ensure optimal part quality, TRUMPF has enhanced its ScanLine function with the addition of the Quality Pilot. ScanLine uses light section sensors to measure tolerances and compensate for deviations in raw materials that are out of shape or of poor quality. The Quality Pilot determines when and how often these measurements are required, based on the quality of each individual tube, helping avoid unnecessary measurement cycles and saving time.

The ObserveLine Comfort function further improves quality by checking whether scrap has been completely removed after processing. The cutting head moves along the contour using a weak laser pulse to verify this, improving process reliability and reducing manual reworking. With ObserveLine Edge technology, pre-punched tubes and profiles can also be processed efficiently. The system identifies existing contours and automatically adjusts the programme, offering greater flexibility when working with semi-finished products.

The TruLaser Tube 7000 integrates TRUMPF’s digital services to reduce unplanned downtime. The Condition Monitoring service analyses machine data in real time and provides early warnings if components show wear or values deviate from target ranges, helping prevent production interruptions. The LoadMaster Tube loading device, included as standard, supports low-labour operation. Its tilt-and-lift station enables fully automatic connection to tube storage systems and integration with unloading solutions. Combined with software solutions and interfaces, the machine can be seamlessly integrated into smart factory environments.

TRUMPF offers the TruLaser Tube 7000 with various loading and unloading lengths, up to 12.5 metres. The machine is designed for companies requiring flexibility to produce both small and large quantities while adapting to changing requirements. Target sectors include machine building and systems engineering, façade and building construction, vehicle manufacturing, and agricultural and construction machinery industries.
