Tata Advanced Systems, a Tata Sons subsidiary, is expected to receive an order for over 100 wheeled armored vehicle platforms from the Indian Army, sources have revealed. The potential order follows the development of an 8x8 wheeled armored platform in collaboration with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), which specialises in defense technology and systems.

A Request for Information (RFI) may be issued soon, marking an initial step to gather details from potential suppliers before a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) is released. The contract is anticipated to be finalised within the next year.

Tata Advanced Systems is a key player in India's aerospace and defence sectors, providing a comprehensive range of integrated solutions in aerostructures, aeroengines, airborne systems, and land mobility. With a strong portfolio of global partnerships and joint ventures, Tata Advanced Systems is well-positioned to deliver innovative solutions across the aerospace and defense value chain, including satellites, missiles, radars, unmanned systems, and more.

The Tata group, though not publicly listed in defence, includes several listed entities such as Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Tata Motors, and Titan.
