Generation

Reliable and safe installations can be ensured using innovative finger proof terminal blocks from the company. Also, the new patented test disconnect terminal blocks in the CLIPLINE complete system enables easy and individual structuring of current transformer measuring sets.

Internal and external surges have been main reasons of equipment failure for many years, Phoenix Contact provides 360 degree protection from surges for Power line, Signal lines and even for Communication lines. This proven system not only ensures high availability of the system but also increases the equipment life. The high availability of the control system of any power plant depends on dependable power supplies and DC UPS system from Phoenix Contact with redundancy connections, 2 0ms of internal buffer and innovative selective fuse break technology.

Reliable communication infrastructure is the key to success of any control system. Phoenix Contact offers fibre optic converters supporting various network topologies for all the leading Fieldbus systems. The main control network is supported using unmanaged and managed Ethernet switches supporting copper, fibre optics and wireless networks in all the possible network topologies up to gigabit speed. Reliable transmission and distribution system with minimum down time is the need of the hour. The remote control solutions from Phoenix Contact offer reliable system and a verity of choices to choose the communication medium. The modem line includes GSM/GPRS modem, Permanent line modem and analog modem using the existing telephone network.

The innovative current transformers, various voltage and current transducers along with verity of signal converter and isolators ensures reliable parameter measurements and inline controller from Phoenix Contact with on board GSM/GPRS modem or with an external modem sends the monitoring parameters to the centralised station using the standard IEC 60870-5-101 or 104. Wind Energy

Solar Energy

The field assembly SUNCLIX connector can be connected quickly, easily and reliably without any special tools. The SUNCLIX junction box contacts the photovoltaic modules quickly and reliably in one step. It is specially designed for thin-film modules or crystalline modules of small performance classes. The special feature is the fully automated assembly of the junction box. It is simply aligned with the upright contact ribbons and pressed against the module.

Phoenix Contact's intelligent products for power distribution also make the "power bus" possible. The concept the power distribution is based on is irrelevant - whether continuous, through-connected or looped-through the consumer. Innovative solutions are available for each case.

The threat of damage from surge voltage is ongoing and just one incident can cause the financial headaches of considerable profit margin decreases and a delay in reaching the break-even point. To achieve the high efficiency from the solar panel is not only dependent on the solar cells being used but also on the solar panel direction with respect to the sun position. The innovative solutions from Phoenix Contact for solar tracking using standard inline controllers ensure the solar panel direction towards sun to obtain the maximum sunlight available and thus ensure the maximum efficiency from the system. The system in independent of the sensor technology to detect the sun position, it only requires the Longitude and Latitude of the physical location of the solar panel and the specially developed function library does the rest.

In order to get the maximum out of the minimum of investment we must not only measure the output but also the power consumed and system status via a solar park management system. Phoenix contact motor mangers along with highly communicative Inline controllers with energy management concept works perfectly simultaneously along with solar tracking system with a distributed control approach and hence offers high reliability, efficiency and availability.

Water Energy

In addition to the regular power plant requirements, Hydro power plant also has application for water source management. Biomass Energy
