The new RFnivo? 3000 is a single-rod probe and works with the capacitive measurement principle for the detection of bulk solids and liquids. He is used as overfill or as demand and empty detector in process or storage containers. He is the first and only capacitive level switch worldwide, which is equipped with an innovative electronics including a display and automatic calibration.

The electronics is the soul

The electronics of the newly developed RFnivo 3000 makes, for the first time in capacitive measuring principles, the operator commissioning easy. After the probe is installed and the power has been turned on, it calibrates itself automatically and reports through self-monitoring, which runs in the background when a malfunction of the probe is present. The display on the electronics indicates whether the calibration was successful and if the probe has the right switching state for the application. In addition the currently measured capacity is shown (in pF). This makes conclusions on the necessary sensitivity for the operator possible. Media with a low relative dielectric constant lead to a lower capacity jump at the probe as a medium with a higher value. Both the sensitivity (from 0.5pF) and the parameters FSH (Fail-Safe High), FSL (Fail-safe Low) and signal delay can be easily changed in a quick launch menu in the display with 4 program keys, if the application requires. Finally a commissioning within just a few minutes is possible without the operator having to treat deeply into the physical context of a capacitive measurement principle. The RFnivo 3000 is up to now the world's only RF probe with a display.

Keep it simple for the operator - error prevention through user-friendliness

Capacitance level switches for solids and liquids are widely used in the international markets for all industries. The advantage of the capacitive level switch is amongst others the possibility of simple applications using simple and low-cost sensor designs to solve the wide range of applications even under extreme process conditions. There are a variety of electronics that sometimes require a lot of experience of the operator, in order to be able to just take in function. The calibration is performed often "blind" or by feeling. This mis-calibrated equipment may cause malfunction in the process. The RFnivo shows the operator the capacity, which is measured by the probe and displays on the screen if the calibration is done successfully or not. The calibrated set value in pF can be easily retrieved from the Diagnostics Menu.
