The XY monitors of Kistler’s maXYmos product family enable production processes to be visualised and evaluated, thereby contributing towards consistent, process-integrated quality assurance. Thanks to a completion of the maXYmos series by the maXYmos NC (Numeric Control), manufacturers can now monitor and control their electromechanical joining systems.

Precise process control

The maXYmos NC evaluates and documents XY curves for joining and press-fitting processes in combination with NC joining modules and the associated IndraDrive servo amplifier. The form of the measurement curves allows the quality of individual manufacturing steps, assembly groups or even an entire product to be monitored and controlled via SERCOS III in real time. Users can thus attain optimum cycle times with maximum repeat accuracy. In this way, downtime is minimised, machine availability is increased resulting in higher productivity of the manufacturing process.

User-friendly sequence control via touch display

Kistler has developed an integrated sequence control (Sequencer Mode) for controlling NC joining modules, which is operated by an intuitive user interface at the touch display. Users can quickly and easily set up as many as 128 programs without the need for expensive, external PLC programming. An independent sequence comprising up to 255 elements can be defined for each program. Even highly complex processes can be easily visualized with this method.

Ultimate Flexibility and Energy Efficiency

* Simple to Integrate: The maXYmos NC consists of two components, the measuring and evaluation module (MEM) and display module (DIM). They can be installed either separately from one another or as a compact unit. This ensures maximum flexibility during installation, saves space and contributes to an optimum cost-benefit ratio.

* Wide Range of Interfaces: The measuring and evaluation module (MEM) offers users a variety of interfaces, for example Profibus, ProfiNet, EtherNet/IP and EtherCAT. This enables highest flexibility. In addition, standardization of MEM development cuts costs in handling of spare parts.

* Reduced Energy Consumption: The NC joining systems from Kistler help the automotive industry and its components suppliers to reduce energy consumption during serial production. The greater level of efficiency they offer in comparison to pneumatic or hydraulic methods facilitates this success. Possible savings by using the electrical process are up to 80 per cent.
