Big technology and big emotions were experienced by visitors to the SCHUNK special talk about the Soccer World Cup on at AUTOMATICA. In the midst of innovative gripping system solutions and presented by the charming Sky Champions League head reporter Jessica Kastrop, the three soccer legends Jens Lehmann, G?nter Netzer and Rudi V?ller met to talk about their World Cup experiences and expectations before a full house. Nowhere else on this day could high technology and the world's favourite pastime be combined so perfectly as at AUTOMATICA in Munich. The soccer giants entertained the visitors with background information, rumours and stories about the minor and major events in world soccer, such as Jens Lehmann's legendary cheat sheet, Netzer's spontaneous "self-substitution" or V?ller's goalkeeper decision. Sky, RTL, Bild and many other media were live on location to report on the event in their broadcasts, online platforms, newsletters and print media. Putting their professionalism aside, an occasional eccentricity or snide remark on the part of the soccer gods showed their human side, making the visitors smile. The good mood in the SCHUNK stadium was therefore in no way impaired by a few critical overtones concerning the Qatar decision, the hidden reserves within the German team or the strengths of other World Cup favourites. The general consensus is that the chances of making it to the semi-finals are good. And after a successful World Cup, everything can once again revolve around automation.
