An expert in traceability and permanent identification solutions, French company Technomark? has designed the first intelligent marking equipment. This entirely new concept is based on innovative control of an electromagnet, which ensures perfect marking and guarantees repeatability whatever the form, the surface condition and the material to be marked. Offered in two different modes, the IDI? software is an exclusive creation by the company.

IDI enables intelligent management of marking by means of a completely original technique. The distance between the stylus and the marked piece is automatically managed by the electromagnet control, which thus supplies the ideal impact force for producing constant marking of very high quality. Technomark offers this software in two quite specific modes:

• IDI marking mode compensates electronically for any variation in distance between the piece to be marked and the marking tool. This solution is the only one currently on the market able to mark pieces with irregular shapes (cylinders, corrugated or inclined parts, etc) and for marking Datamatrix? codes, and
• IDI maintenance mode informs the user of any deviation in the marking following wear on the equipment over time, faulty adjustment, a damaged tool or a broken stylus. This solution is perfectly suited to marking equipment integrated in an automated production line. This functionality makes it possible to manage a bank of marking machines and to forestall any maintenance.

The company had already revolutionised the marking world by means of an innovative concept: Multi4?. This is a fully modular machine, capable of working in four quite distinct configurations. Portable for marking medium and very large pieces or ones that are difficult to access, it can be fixed on a bench for marking small pieces. Multi4 is becoming multipurpose, that is to say both portable and fixed, for marking all pieces, or integrated for marking in an automated production line. Simple to use, flexible and requiring moderate investment, Multi4 is a suitable solution for meeting various identification and traceability requirements.
