After the overwhelming success of the last three India Engineering Sourcing Show (IESS), the fourth edition of IESS was organized from 16-18 December 2014 at the sprawling Bombay Exhibition & Convention Centre, Mumbai. The three-day mega event, one of the largest engineering sourcing exhibitions was organised by the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry with EEPC India as the lead agency. The show endeavoured to create a "Brand India" image within India and a platform to showcase the strength and capabilities of Indian engineering sector. EEPC India has taken the initiative for developing more trade in engineering sector by a holding this mega event in India.

India is emerging as a destination ideal for business expansion and investments. The 'Make in India' campaign, initiative by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which aims to turn the country into a global manufacturing hub, has already sounded the bells of optimism in the ears of manufacturers and exporters. In this scenario, IESS has turned out to be an apt platform to promote the campaign, which aims to highlight India as a "technology hub" for manufacturing industry. Together, they shall help in boosting the exports from India in years to come.

IESS IV was graced by the presence of Shri Rajeev Kher, Union Commerce Secretary, Government of India; Mr Tomasz ??kaszuk, Ambassador of Poland to India; Mr Anupam Shah, Chairman, EEPC India and Mr Ravi Capoor, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce. Over the span of 60 years, EEPC India has guided the engineering export community in increasing the export share from 0.5% in India's total exports in 1956-57 to around 20% in 2013-14. As EEPC India steps into its 60th year, Union Commerce Secretary has launched its new logo to commemorate its 60th year at IESS.

This year's product profile was carefully chosen, keeping in view the global sourcing trends with engineering sector focusing on industrial electrical machinery, industrial supply, automotive components, retail engineering, metal shop & floor, innovation & technology and investment & engineering projects exports. IESS IV showcased various products and solution from around 300 exhibitors, around 600 delegates from around 62 countries. Nearly 12,000 business visitors were present at the show to discuss their business requirements. These included CEOs, decision makers, diplomats, trade and government delegations, international media and engineering professional along with technical experts from PSUs, etc. Additionally, there were ample opportunities to forge partnerships for exports.

This year IESS has expanded its scope and included Industrial Supply in association with Hannover Milano Fairs India Pvt. Ltd (HMFI), Deutsche Messe AG, Germany, the Indian subsidiary of the largest and oldest engineering trade fair organiser, Deutsche Messe AG, Germany. Thus, the show witnessed the presence of very high level of entrepreneurs from Germany as well.

Marching forward, EEPC India aspires to bring a bigger show in the 5th edition, which is scheduled to be held from 24-26 November 2015 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai.
