AVA-CO2 Plans World-wide First Commercial HTC-Plants

AVA-CO2, pioneer of hydrothermal carbonisation (HTC), the company inaugurated in October 2010 in Karlsruhe, Germany the world-wide first industrial scale HTC-Demonstration Plant and is now planning the first commercial HTC-Plants in Germany. The HTC technology uses biomass to produce renewable energy, reducing greenhouse gases and enabling a neutral CO2-balance. "On an industrial scale, hydrothermal carbonisation (HTC) opens completely new perspectives on the reduction of greenhouse gases and the production of renewable energy by processing biomass into CO2-neutral biocoal," explains the Chairman of the Board, Peter Achermann. "Wherever larger quantities of biomass accumulate continuously, the HTC process can be used profitably by a large number of industries and applications," adds Jan Vyskocil, CEO of AVA-CO2.

2G Energietechnik GmbH: Technology Leadership in Gas Engines

2G Energietechnik GmbH, once again shows its successful R&D efforts and provides evidence for their technology leadership in gas engines up to 500 kW of electrical power. This year the company introduces the latest six-cylinder engine from the agenitor product line which is the "agenitor 406" with 250 kW of electrical power for operation with natural gas and biogas. The module comes along with an electrical efficiency of 42.5%, thus setting new standards in gas engine technology in this power range. Compared to the predecessor "agenitor 306", already known as the "efficiency leader", 2G again sets a clear trend in the (CHP) market.

ABB AG - Power Technologies for Smart Grids

ABB AG - Power Technologies will be exhibiting at this year's Hannover Fair a new, application-driven version of the substation type SafePlus, equipped to cope with changing distribution network sections. The requirements that substations on the secondary distribution level have to meet are undergoing significant changes. This is particularly true in regard to remote-controllability, automation and monitoring.
