Today, an emergency power supply is required in many areas in addition to the general power supply for safety reasons. This includes buildings with public traffic, such as tunnels, airports, train stations, sports facilities, hospitals, malls, etc. Particularly high demands are placed on the emergency power supply and the components used for it. In case of fire, they must ensure that functionality of the circuits is maintained over a defined period of time. Emergency lighting, lifts, smoke extractors, and alarms must remain operational for at least 30 or 90 minutes according to requirements so that people can leave the building and rescue forces can work.

Tunnel Box: Intrinsic Fire Resistance E90 in XXL

Hensel is the only company to provide a solution for the connection of cables up to 50 mm? with E90 intrinsic fire resistance. The so-called tunnel box was designed as a connection box for conductors from 16 to 50 mm?. Its field of application is where cables must be laid over long distances with intrinsic fire resistance, as is the case in tunnels, for example. By using cables up to 35 mm?, the tunnel box can also be used as a junction box. Connecting terminals consist of high temperature resistant ceramic in accordance with IEC 60 998-2-1.

The stainless steel boxes are powder-coated in RAL 2003 Pastel Orange and meet degree of protection IP 65. Attachment occurs via external keyhole drillings, which facilitate wall mounting.

Communication Junction Box with E30 Intrinsic Fire Resistance

The E30 communication box from Hensel is also new. The empty box is intended for the installation of connecting device for telecommunications and equipped with cable entries on 4 sides. The mounting brackets for attaching the connecting device are already included in the scope of delivery. The connecting device for telecommunications is available as accessories for 10 or 20 pairs with both LSA connection technology and screw terminals. Cable entry is via elastic sealing membranes.

The robust fire protection box is impact resistant in accordance with IK 10 and meets degree of protection IP 55. Screw anchors for concrete, lime sandstone, bricks and clinker are included in the scope of delivery.
