The Visakha Electrical Dealers Association (VEDA) would be conducting the third electrical trade fair, Electric World 2010, at Visakhaptnam, Andhra Pradesh, from 17-19 September 2010, according to M Hanumantha Rao, President of VEDA.

VEDA was established in the year 2002 with the objective to develop harmony among the electrical dealers of Visakhapatnam city, to create good understanding between its members by conducting frequent fellowships and to avoid unhealthy competition between the dealers. In addition to this, VEDA is creating awareness about new products by organising seminars, display of products in major industries and conducting in-house seminars, etc. This is in no small measure due to major companies like Crompton Greaves, L&T, Finolex, C&H, ABB, Siemens, Philips, Bajaj, Legrand and other multi national companies for their continuous support in achieving the stated objectives of VEDA.Visakhapatnam is one of the fastest growing cities in the world. A port city on the eastern coast of India and home to an important Naval Base, Visakha-patnam has turned out to be a major industrial centre in the entire south of India.

Many major and minor industries have flourished here, and just to quote few among these are Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd, Hindustan Zinc Ltd, Hindustan Shipyard, Coramandel Fertilisers, Visakhaptnam Port Trust, Naval Dockyard, National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd, L G Polymers and Essar are located in and around Visakhapatnam city.In order to create awareness and to promote new and upcoming electrical products to the major and minor industries and general public, VEDA has been conducting the 'Electric World' series of trade fairs since 2008. The first edition in 2008 received encouraging response from industry and visitors. The second edition during 2009 was not only hugely successful but also turned out to be one of the biggest events in the state of Andhra Pradesh. A large number of exhibitors from various regions have participated in these trade fairs. The 2010 edition of Electric World is expected to continue the tradition and blaze a longer trail of glory.
