Mr Reddy is an associate member of the Association for Project Management (APM) - UK. He is also serving as the president of Uppal Industrial Associations. A Mechanical Engineering graduate from JTNU, Hyderabad, YSR has contributed immensely towards social causes as Founder & MD of IBeam Foundation, a reputed and active social entrepreneurship organisation. The company specialises in conveyors for process industries. What are the various types?

Bevcon Wayors is specialised in new-generation Material Handling Equipment, which cater to present day demands of Indian process industries. This includes equipment like steep angle conveyors, aero belt conveyors, sandwich type high angle belt conveyors, cost effective pollution-free pneumatic conveying systems, special flip flow screens for high moisture material screening applications, high efficient sugar graders, fines screening and crushing equipment, stockyard equipment like radial stackers, liner stackers and reclaimers, wagon tippler and paddle feeder, etc.

What are the applications?

Equipment manufactured by Bevcon Wayors will cater the needs across material handling applications in various industries, e.g., raw material handling systems for steel plants, fuel handling systems for coal and biomas based power plants, in-plant material handling systems, ferro alloy plants, sugar, lime coke handling systems, etc.

Pollution is a major concern in process industries. Is the equipment designed taking this into account?

Any breakthrough product launch that made a difference?

Yes - the installation of Asia's largest steep angle conveyor for pet coke at Tata Steel; the introduction of Flip Flow Screens has made a difference and continuous development and introduction of new material handling equipment into the market every year makes a difference.

How is the present business environment?

Considering the overall present Indian economic scenario, the market is not encouraging and is highly competitive; but there is lot of potential for material handling needs for the growing Indian economy. It is a matter of time, and things are going to be in place, we are very optimistic about it.

What are the future plans?

We have great, ambitious future plans drawn up for our organisation, like achieving turnover of Rs 500 crore by 2015, and we are seriously exploring new technologies for open coal mining in India, and an entry in stockyard equipments, etc.
