Airfloa Rail Technology Limited has entered a strategic joint venture with Big Bang Boom Solutions Private Limited (BBBS) to establish a dedicated platform for manufacturing next-generation defence-technology equipment in India. Under the partnership structure, Airfloa will hold a 51 per cent stake while BBBS will retain 49 per cent.

The collaboration integrates Airfloa’s engineering and production strengths—traditionally centred on railway rolling-stock components and turnkey interiors—with BBBS’s advanced defence-technology portfolio, which includes electronic-warfare systems, AI-enabled autonomous platforms, precision components, advanced materials, nanotechnology products and defence-grade systems integration capabilities.

According to Manikandan Dakshnamoorthy, Joint Managing Director, Airfloa the JV is aimed at tapping high-growth opportunities in defence manufacturing—a sector with strong value-creation potential and robust policy support. He noted that the partnership will strengthen long-term growth prospects and deepen both companies’ technological capabilities.

Dr R Shivaraman, Co-founder and CTO, BBBS said the joint venture will enable industrial-scale production of their defence innovations, supporting faster deployment across India’s defence ecosystem.

The new venture aligns with the national agenda of boosting domestic defence manufacturing, reducing import dependence and accelerating the production of cutting-edge systems such as UAVs, electronic-warfare equipment and advanced-materials solutions.
