Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd (KRCL) is headquartered at CBD Belapur in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. The Konkan Railway has two regions with headquarters at Ratnagiri in Maharashtra and Karwar in Karnataka.

Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd (KRCL) is headquartered at CBD Belapur in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. The Konkan Railway has two regions with headquarters at Ratnagiri in Maharashtra and Karwar in Karnataka. The Ratnagiri railway region extends over 480 kilometres (300 mi) from Roha to Sawantwadi in Maharashtra, while the Karwar railway region extends over 660 kilometres (410 mi) from Pernem in Goa to Surathkal in Karnataka. 
 
The Konkan Railway is considered as an engineering marvel owing to number of technological innovations implemented on the route.The Konkan Railway covers 741-kilometre line connecting the state of Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka and Kerala - a region of criss-crossing rivers, plunging valleys and mountains that soar into the clouds. It was the missing link between India’s commercial capital, Mumbai, and Mangalore. 
 
The first train on the completed track was flagged off on January 26, 1998, the Republic Day of India. KRCL provides transportation services for both passenger and freight movement. It also offers roll-on roll-off service on the Konkan Railway route. The route is a single-line track, and is not electrified. The Konkan railway route intersects National Highway 66 at many places. There are 56 stations on the entire line. KRCL is constantly striving to provide better amenities to railway passengers.

  • Infrastructure Projects: To leverage our talent and experience towards achieving excellence in timely delivery of challenging infrastructure projects of world class standard.
 
Projects
 
KRCL has decided to undertake expansion and modernisation project. The project comprises doubling 147 km track, developing 21 new railway stations and electrification project. The Ministry of Railways had already given its in-principle approval in October 2017 for major capacity augmentation of Konkan Railway at an approximate cost of ?4,980 crore, and the proposal is in the process of sanction. The rail connectivity to Karwar Port is also being considered. The feasibility report on the same would be submitted soon to the Railway Ministry.
 
Track Doubling Project- Roha-Veer: Doubling of track of Roha – Veer section (47 km).  The work involves 11- major bridges, 2-RUBs, 1-ROB and 197 minor bridges including earthwork and track linking.  The works are in progress.  The completion period is 36 months. Saves travel time once completed.
 
Jaigarh –Digni Rail Connectivity Project: SPV has been incorporated with equity partners of JSW Jaigarh Port Ltd. (JSWJPL), Maharashtra Maritime Board (MMB) and Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd (KRCL) to carry out the project of constructing rail line of  33.70 km with total project cost of ? 771 crore.  The project work involves 7- Major bridges, 4-RUBs, 2-ROBs, 18- Minor bridges and 6 – Tunnels of total length -18.37 km.
