Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd has secured a noteworthy contract worth Rs 440.4 million from Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation Limited (MRVC) for designing, supplying, constructing, installing, testing, and commissioning key traction infrastructure between Kalyan and Badlapur. This project is a vital component of India’s railway electrification efforts, propelling the country forward in sustainable and efficient urban transit development.

Underscoring Texmaco’s ongoing contribution to India’s infrastructure advancement, Indrajit Mookerjee, Vice Chairman & Executive Director, Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd, stated: “We continue to apply cutting-edge technology and engineering expertise to deliver superior traction systems. Our capabilities in railway electrification are aligned with India’s vision of becoming self-reliant in infrastructure.”

Texmaco’s overall order book now stands at Rs 72.75 billion, underscoring its consistent growth and continued confidence from major industry players.

The project scope includes establishing a 1x25 kV 110/25 kV Traction Substation (TSS) with 40/56 MVA AC traction transformers, alongside two Switching Posts (SPs) and associated infrastructure across a 15-kilometre section in Maharashtra. This electrification initiative will significantly enhance the efficiency, dependability, and functionality of Mumbai’s suburban and long-distance rail services.

Sudipta Mukherjee, Managing Director of Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd, noted: “Texmaco is proud to partner with MRVC in transforming India’s railway systems through innovative, indigenously developed solutions. Scheduled for completion within 18 months, Texmaco plans to execute the work in close coordination with MRVC and Indian Railways. This contract further reinforces Texmaco’s position as a frontrunner in India’s rail infrastructure transformation.
