What were the reasons for Dormer Pramet’s refined brand identity? 
Our idea of unveiling a fresh identity was to align with the evolving needs of the manufacturing community and reaffirm our purpose and care towards the manufacturing community. This transformation is not just our commitment to support our customers better but even our employees, suppliers and the environment within which we operate. The refined brand identity features updated visual elements and a renewed emphasis on collaboration and harmony within the manufacturing ecosystem. It symbolises our dedication to fostering innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence while strengthening relationships with our stakeholders. 

What factors and which end-user industries are driving the demand for your company in India? 
The demand for Dormer Pramet in India is driven by several factors, including the robust growth in the automotive sector, the government's Make in India initiative, and significant investments in infrastructure. The automotive industry remains a key driver, with the need for high-precision tools for manufacturing components. Additionally, the general engineering sector, railways, aerospace, and renewable energy industries are also contributing to the demand. The focus on infrastructure development and the push for self-reliance in manufacturing are further boosting the need for advanced cutting tools.

How does the Indian unit support the growth of Dormer Pramet’s global business? What steps are you taking to propel exports? 
The Indian unit plays a crucial role in supporting Dormer Pramet's global business by serving as a strategic manufacturing hub. The Ankleshwar plant, for instance, not only produces for the local market but also for global distribution. This plant is fully integrated, manufacturing not only Miranda products but also Dormer Pramet and other brands. Steps to propel exports include increasing production capacity, capability, optimising logistics, and leveraging the low-cost production base of the Ankleshwar Plant. The synergy between Dormer Pramet and Miranda strengthens our position as one of the leading companies in high-speed steel (HSS) products such as drills and taps.

Besides automotive, what kinds of growth opportunities do emerging sectors offer to the company?
Emerging sectors such as railways, defence, aerospace, electronics, renewable energy, and electrical vehicles present significant growth opportunities for Dormer Pramet. These sectors are expected to drive demand for advanced cutting tools and machining solutions due to their need for high precision and efficiency. For instance, the aerospace sector requires tools that can handle complex geometries and high-strength materials, while In the railways sector, the growth opportunities are driven by the modernisation and expansion of railway infrastructure in India. Dormer Pramet is actively involved in supplying cutting tools for the manufacturing and maintenance of railway components. The company's tools are used in the production of various railway parts, including tracks, wheels, and axles, which require high durability and precision.

3D printing is revolutionising the metalworking industry by enabling the production of complex geometries that are difficult or impossible to achieve with traditional manufacturing methods. It offers benefits such as reduced material waste, shorter lead times, and the ability to produce customised parts on demand. Dormer Pramet is exploring the integration of 3D printing technologies to enhance its product offerings and meet the evolving needs of its customers. This technology is particularly beneficial for producing prototypes and small batches of parts, allowing for rapid iteration and innovation.

What are your plans for IMTEX 2025? 
For IMTEX 2025, Dormer Pramet plans to showcase its latest product innovations, sustainability initiatives, and strategic partnerships. The booth will highlight new technologies and solutions designed to meet the high precision and efficiency demands of today's manufacturers. The company aims to attract new distributors and end-users, strengthen relationships with existing partners, and generate qualified leads. The focus will be on demonstrating the company's commitment to innovation and sustainability. Additionally, Dormer Pramet will present its new brand identity and highlight its recent growth and innovations in India.

What are your growth plans for the company in the coming years? 
Dormer Pramet's growth plans include expanding its market presence in India and other emerging markets, increasing production capacity, and investing in new technologies. The company aims to achieve double-digit growth by focusing on key segments such as automotive, aerospace, and renewable energy. Additionally, strategic partnerships and acquisitions will play a vital role in driving growth and enhancing the company's product portfolio. The company is also committed to sustainability, with initiatives to reduce CO2 emissions and achieve 90% circularity in materials used in products and packaging.
