The Sardar Patel College of Engineering Alumni Association (SPCE) honoured Ayaz Qazi, a Mechanical Engineering graduate from the 1983 batch, with the Lifetime Achievement Award at Alumni Meet 2026, recognising his contributions to engineering and entrepreneurship.
Ayaz Qazi, Managing Director, Precihole Machine Tools, a group of companies specialising in deep hole drilling technology, a precision engineering process enabling length-to-diameter ratios of up to 400:1, compared to approximately 10:1 in conventional drilling.
Under his leadership, the Precihole Group has expanded into three distinct businesses (Precihole Machine Tools, Precihole Sports and Precihole Arms) each contributing to engineering innovation.
Founded in 1988, Precihole Machine Tools delivers precision machining solutions for industries such as aerospace, automotive and energy. With 37 years of operations, the company has established a global presence with over 500 installations across more than 25 countries.
Established in 2012, Precihole Sports focuses on target shooting equipment and has grown to become India’s largest airgun manufacturer. In 2024, the company partnered with a UK firm to distribute its products across 35 countries.
Launched in August 2025, Precihole Arms is among the few licensed private defence contractors in India, engaged in the development of complete firearms, barrels and firearm components using indigenous technology for the Indian government.
Beyond its business operations, the Precihole Foundation runs a training centre for aspiring shooters, supporting grassroots sports through equipment sponsorship, training programmes, competitions and motivational sessions.
Over four decades, Qazi has built a legacy in entrepreneurship, innovation and engineering excellence. The SPCE Alumni Association recognises his contributions to industry through this honour.
