Mercedes-Benz India delivered 19,007 units in calendar year
2025, compared to 19,565 units in 2024, marking its best-ever year in terms of
revenue.
The Top-End Vehicles (TEV) portfolio, comprising the
S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach and AMG models, recorded 11 per cent year-on-year
growth, accounting for 25 per cent of total sales. The high-performance AMG
portfolio grew by 34 per cent year-on-year, reflecting rising aspiration for
performance-oriented vehicles.
The BEV portfolio sustained growth momentum with a 12 per
cent year-on-year increase, contributing 20 per cent of all top-end
Mercedes-Benz sales in India. Seventy per cent of BEVs sold in 2025 belonged to
the top-end segment, priced between Rs 12.5 million and Rs 31 million,
including the EQS SUV, EQS Sedan, Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV and the
Mercedes-Benz G580. The EQS SUV remained the company’s highest-selling luxury
BEV in India.
The long-wheelbase E-Class continued to outperform its
segment, retaining its position as India’s most desired and highest-selling
luxury car. Entry luxury, core and top-end segments contributed 13 per cent, 62
per cent and 25 per cent respectively to total 2025 sales volumes.
The sedan portfolio maintained strong demand, led by the
C-Class, long-wheelbase E-Class, S-Class and Mercedes-Maybach S-Class
limousines. SUVs also delivered robust performance across the range, including
GLA, GLC, GLE, GLS, Mercedes-Maybach GLS and the AMG G63.
The entry luxury portfolio declined by 20 per cent
year-on-year, reducing its share to 13 per cent of total volumes, in line with
Mercedes-Benz’s strategy of prioritising product substance over price
competition.
Twelve New Product
Launches Planned for 2026
In 2026, Mercedes-Benz plans to introduce 12 new vehicles in
India, including all-new models, products without predecessors and facelifts.
Several of these launches will be Top-End Vehicles and new BEVs. The company
will also debut the much-awaited CLA BEV featuring the new MB.OS operating system.
Local Manufacturing
of Mercedes-Maybach GLS
Mercedes-Benz India announced the start of local production
of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS at its Pune manufacturing facility, making India
the first market outside the USA to locally produce this ultra-luxury SUV.
India ranks among the top five global markets for Mercedes-Maybach, with rising
demand for ultra-luxury vehicles. Local manufacturing will enable faster
deliveries and improved customer access. The Mercedes-Maybach GLS, introduced
in India in June 2021, has so far been retailed as a completely built unit
(CBU).
MB.CHARGE Public:
Unified Charging Ecosystem
Mercedes-Benz India launched MB.CHARGE Public, a digital
service providing EV customers access to a unified public charging network
through the Mercedes-Benz app and RFID. The service integrates multiple
charging partners, offers real-time availability, seamless payments and
charging history tracking.
Globally, MB.CHARGE Public serves over 350,000 users across
more than 3.3 million charging points in 37 countries. In India, customers can
access over 9,000 DC charging points through partnerships with Jio BP,
Chargezone, Chargemod, Zeon Charging and Mercedes-Benz dealership chargers. The
service supports app- and RFID-based authentication, transparent pricing per
kWh, automated billing and payments via cards and UPI.
Retail Network
Expansion and Customer Journey Transformation
Mercedes-Benz India will add 15 new luxury touchpoints in
three new markets in 2026 and upgrade 15 existing outlets to new architecture
standards. Franchise partners will invest over Rs 4.5 billion to strengthen the
retail network.
The company has streamlined its sales, service and finance
operations into a unified ‘1 Customer Unit’ model, offering a single-window
customer experience. This includes integrated financing, insurance, warranty
and service plans from the first point of interaction.
As part of its digital transformation roadmap, Mercedes-Benz
India is also introducing ‘3 Clicks to Finance’, enabling a fully digital, customer-led
onboarding process supported by authorised data sources, reducing turnaround
time while ensuring regulatory compliance.
Mercedes-Benz India reported robust 2025 sales, led by strong Top-End Vehicles and BEVs, announced 12 new launches for 2026, local Maybach GLS production, and expanded charging and retail networks.
