IMTEX 2025: The showstopper for machine tool builders

Over the past decade, India has reached remarkable milestones across various end-user industries, driven by the 'Make in India' initiative, which sought to position the country as a global manufacturing powerhouse. This has had a big positive effect on the machine tool industry, which is considered to be a fundamental pillar of Indian engineering sector as these machines are used across industrial applications such as die moulding, component production, aircraft, shipbuilding, electrical and electronics, healthcare, and consumer durables.

“Globally, India ranks 9th in production and 6th in consumption, according to the World Machine Tool Survey 2023 by Gardner Intelligence. Production during FY 2023-24 is estimated to have increased by approximately 10%, reaching ?135.71 billion ($ 1.6 billion). Consumption during the same period is estimated to have risen by 11 per cent, reaching ?272.65 billion ($3.3 billion),” stated Rajendra S Rajamane, President of The Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA).

Against this backdrop, IMTMA will be organising IMTEX 2025, one of the leading machine tool and manufacturing technology shows in the world, January 23-29, 2025, at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, Bengaluru. With a legacy of more than 5 decades, IMTEX - a showstopper for machine tool builders - has played a stellar role in the growth of manufacturing industries. “IMTEX 2025 will showcase a confident and innovative India, demonstrating how its machine tool industry contributes to the nation’s journey toward excellence,” added Rajamane.

Over 1,000 exhibitors from over 20 countries will showcase state-of-the-art manufacturing technology solutions, occupying approximately 80,000 sq m of exhibition space. IMTEX 2025 promises to be a landmark occasion for the industry. IMTEX 2025, along with its concurrent shows—Tooltech 2025 and Digital Manufacturing 2025—will present a comprehensive range of advanced solutions in CNC machining, tooling, automation, robotics, additive manufacturing, CAD/CAM, metrology, and smart manufacturing technologies. The exhibition aims to transform India’s manufacturing sector by showcasing these cutting-edge innovations. The event will attract OEMs, sourcing agents, researchers, academics, and students, providing an opportunity to explore and source their requirements.

Commenting on the scale of the event, Jibak Dasgupta, Director General & CEO of IMTMA, said, “IMTEX 2025 will be the largest machine tool exhibition yet, surpassing all previous editions. Spanning approximately 80,000 square meters, the event will feature over 1,000 exhibitors presenting an exciting range of technologies and solutions, making it the perfect platform for machine tool user industries.”

He noted, “The display of ‘LIVE’ machines at IMTEX 2025 will allow visitors to witness the technologies and solutions first-hand. The event offers exhibitors—both large and small—an excellent opportunity to enhance their brand presence.”

In addition to Tooltech 2025 and Digital Manufacturing 2025, IMTEX 2025 will host several parallel events, including i2 Academia Square, the Manufacturing Quiz Contest, Jagruti, and Job Connect. The event will also welcome industry-specific trade delegations and students from engineering institutions.

IMTEX 2025 is set to redefine manufacturing excellence by bringing together global leaders and fostering innovation in the machine tool industry.
