Hind Rectifiers Launches High-Performance Copper Conductors for Global Markets

Hind Rectifiers Limited unveils its new copper products—CTC, PICC, and EPICC—engineered for transformers, traction motors, and power grids, produced at its advanced plant in Sinnar, Nashik.
Hind Rectifiers Limited (NSE: HIRECT) has announced the commercial launch of its new high-performance copper products, including Continuously Transposed Conductors (CTC), Paper Insulated Copper Conductors (PICC), and Enameled Paper Insulated Copper Conductors (EPICC). These advanced conductors, manufactured at HIRECT’s state-of-the-art copper processing plant in Sinnar, Nashik, are designed for high-power components such as transformers and traction motors, supporting key infrastructure sectors including power grids, railway systems, and industrial power networks. This expansion aims to strengthen HIRECT’s position in the transformer supply chain and boost its global market presence.
The new production lines offer industry-leading flexibility in conductor sizing and insulation layers. The CTC lines can accommodate 5 to 63 strands per conductor, with strand dimensions ranging from 2.5 mm to 12.0 mm in width and 1.0 mm to 5.0 mm in thickness. Transposition pitches are adjustable from 25 mm to 200 mm. The Paper Insulated lines can handle copper widths up to 20 mm and thicknesses up to 8 mm. HIRECT's enamelling lines apply four distinct insulation types, with paper insulation capable of wrapping up to 32 layers for CTC and 8 layers for PICC in a single pass. Insulation thickness is controllable between 0.25 mm and 5 mm.
The CTC production area is housed in a dust-free, air-conditioned environment to maintain optimal manufacturing conditions and consistent quality.
"Exceptional quality and responsible sourcing are the cornerstones of our expanded copper operations," said Shailesh Jadav, VP Operations at HIRECT. "To ensure flawless insulation and dimensional accuracy, we have integrated 100% in-line optical testing across all enamelling lines, alongside online pinhole and blister detectors and precision measuring equipment capable of tolerances of ±5 microns in the drawing and rolling process."
HIRECT's Sinnar facility is ISO 9001:2015 certified, with in-house testing labs for dielectric dissipation (Tan Delta), high-voltage breakdown, interstrand shorts, and proof stress, ensuring all products meet the highest international quality and performance standards.
