HHV Advanced Technologies Pvt Ltd (HHVAT), a global leader in thin-film technology, has invested in and become a long-term strategic partner of EON Space Labs, a Hyderabad-based deep-tech start-up specialising in imaging technologies. This is part of a USD 1.2 million pre-Series A funding round that also includes MGF Kavachh.

The investment will help EON Space Labs scale up manufacturing of its AI-driven electro-optical and infrared payloads, strengthen its engineering team, and support new product launches. The company is also preparing to unveil its first ultra-lightweight space telescope, MIRA, by the end of 2025.

Founded in 1965, HHVAT brings decades of expertise in advanced vacuum systems, thin-film technology, and precision optics for organisations such as ISRO and DRDO, as well as international aerospace missions. This collaboration will enable EON Space Labs to draw upon HHVAT’s deep technical know-how to accelerate product innovation and market expansion.

Established in 2022 by Sanjay Kumar, Punit Badeka, and Manoj Kumar Gaddam, EON Space Labs designs miniaturised, high-resolution imaging systems for satellites, drones, aerial systems, and fixed ground platforms.

Prasanth Sakhamuri, Managing Director, HHV Advanced Technologies, said, “Our alliance with EON is built on a mutual commitment to advancing India’s high-precision optics manufacturing capabilities. This investment marks the start of a strategic collaboration aimed at bringing cutting-edge deep-tech imaging solutions to the market.”

Sanjay Kumar, Co-founder of EON Space Labs, commented, “With HHVAT’s unparalleled knowledge in optics and thin-film technology, we can accelerate both product development and mass manufacturing. This partnership is pivotal in our mission to create a globally competitive optical payload ecosystem in India.”

Manoj Kumar Gaddam, Co-founder of EON Space Labs, added, “The backing of our strategic investors brings us closer to building a world-class optical payload manufacturing capability.”

This strategic alliance aims to deliver homegrown, globally relevant precision technology for multiple sectors, reinforcing India’s leadership in space and drone research.

Hind High Vacuum Advanced Technologies (HHVAT), part of the HHV Group and headquartered in Bengaluru, is India’s leading thin-film and vacuum technology company. With over six decades of experience, HHV designs and manufactures high-vacuum equipment for research and industrial applications. It is a global developer and manufacturer of laboratory and industrial-scale vacuum thin-film coating systems for optical and functional coatings, operates the largest optics and thin-film coating facility in India, and produces specialised vacuum equipment for complex metallurgical processes.

EON Space Labs is a Hyderabad-based deep-tech company specialising in AI-driven electro-optical and infrared imaging payloads for satellites, unmanned aerial vehicles, and ground platforms. Founded in 2022, EON is committed to designing and manufacturing its products entirely in India.
