Danfoss India has announced a strategic joint venture with
engineering firm PowerNEU to form Danfoss PowerNEU Private Limited, aimed at
supporting India’s metals and heavy industries through a locally embedded
execution and solutions model. The venture was formally inaugurated with a
groundbreaking ceremony for a new manufacturing facility and office in
Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.
Positioned in India’s steel heartland, the Jamshedpur
facility will serve major steel and metals producers across Jharkhand, Odisha,
Chhattisgarh and neighbouring industrial regions. The joint venture marks a
significant milestone in Danfoss’s long-term commitment to India, strengthening
its ability to deliver advanced technologies and decarbonisation solutions
closer to end-users.
Designed as a long-term platform, Danfoss PowerNEU will
enable solution development close to customer operations, supported by 24x7
connectivity and rapid on-site response. Once fully operational, the integrated
facility will provide end-to-end capabilities spanning design, engineering,
manufacturing, testing and quality assurance for complex industrial
applications, aligned with Danfoss standards. Offerings from Danfoss Power
Drives, Danfoss Climate Solutions and Danfoss Power Solutions will be delivered
under one roof.
The site will also house a dedicated Experience Centre
focused on next-generation decarbonisation technologies across power
electronics, climate control and hydraulics, supporting customer engagement
through training, demonstrations and capability development.
As industries accelerate decarbonisation, Danfoss
highlighted energy efficiency as a critical lever, noting that around 53 per
cent of global energy is expected to be lost as waste heat by 2030, while
India’s green steel demand is projected to reach 4.49 million tonnes by FY30.
Ravichandran
Purushothaman, President, Danfoss India, said, “India’s metals and heavy
industries are at a pivotal stage where growth must align with sustainability.
Danfoss PowerNEU reflects our long-term commitment to India by combining global
decarbonisation expertise with strong local execution. The Jamshedpur facility
reinforces the strategic importance of Eastern India as the country’s steel
heartland.”
Mandar Vaijanapurkar,
Head of Drives Sales, Marketing & Services, Danfoss India, commented,
“The formation of Danfoss PowerNEU is a strategic step to accelerate
