Burkert unveils manufacturing facility in Pune to expand Indian operations

Burkert Fluid Control Systems India Private Limited has inaugurated a new 50,000-square-foot manufacturing facility on October 16, 2024, in Pune’s Talegaon MIDC, Maharashtra, reinforcing its commitment to India’s growing industrial market. The facility, featuring advanced machining centres, assembly lines, and testing units, will produce over 30,000 valves and 500 systems annually, serving local demand with key components and system solutions.

Initially, the facility will focus on manufacturing mass flow controllers, angle seat valves, diaphragm valves, and system solutions, with plans for phased expansion to support India’s diverse industrial needs. Technology transfer for specialised systems, including Zone 1 ATEX-classified panels, has been completed, with Burkert projecting profitability by 2028.

Georg Stawowy, CEO emphasised the facility’s alignment with India’s 'Make in India' initiative, allowing Burkert to customise products locally. Sadiq Khan, Managing Director noted this as Burkert’s third global manufacturing unit outside Europe, completing its value chain globally.

Burkert, headquartered in Germany and employing over 3,700 people, is a leader in fluid and gas control systems, with a vast product portfolio spanning pharmaceuticals, biotech, aerospace, and more.
