Autosys is a turnkey automation company: Jayakumar V

Autosys and Koremec Group of Companies specialise in turnkey plant automation, offering multidisciplinary solutions across multiple industries. With over 1,500 projects executed, the company is advancing Industry 5.0 and manufacturing intelligence initiatives. In this interview, Jayakumar V, Director, Autosys and Koremec Group of Companies, highlights the firm’s commitment to reliability, innovation, and global expansion.

Could you briefly introduce your company and its operations?
Autosys Engineering, Autosys Control Systems and Autosys Products are associate companies of Koremec.

We provide end to end plant automation and turnkey project execution in a wide variety of industries and processes. We combine our multi-disciplinary engineering expertise (mechanical, electrical, electronics, instrumentation, PLCs, SCADA, computers and software) with deep domain knowledge to undertake fixed price contracts for projects costing Rs 10 million to Rs 500 million.

Modernisation of existing plants and automation of specific processes are also undertaken. The leadership team at Autosys and Koremec have been working together for 25+ years, and have a cumulative experience of over 100 years in instrumentation, process control and automation. The team has executed over 1500 projects for industry leaders and global MNCs, exceeding customer expectations every time, on performance, reliability and quality.

What sets your company apart from competitors? Which end-user industries are driving demand for your products/solutions?
We have deep domain knowledge in every industry we operate. Combined with our multi-disciplinary expertise, we are able to take total turnkey responsibility. We currently work in bulk material handling, weighing and batching for refractories, ceramics, chemicals, pharma, animal feed and food processing industries. We do instrumentation intensive projects for water, waste water, oil, gas and power industries. We execute large PLC and DCS projects (15000+ Ios) in infrastructure industries. And we specialise in Industry 5.0, MES and manufacturing intelligence projects across all industries and MSMEs.

What are the emerging trends in automation, and how is your company leveraging them?
India is moving up the value chain, from a cost-saving paradigm to a world standards paradigm. Correspondingly, automation is no longer seen as a replacement for manpower, but a necessity to meet reliability and consistency of quality. There are many multinationals who have used our indigenous expertise for their plants in India, and saved millions of dollars in capex.

Can you share some innovations or initiatives your company has introduced in the past 1–2 years?
We are not a product company but a turnkey automation company. Engineering and execution are our core competencies. Our team has been in this domain for over 3 decades. In the last 2 years, we see a clear trend towards enterprises investing more in software intelligence and shop floor live data aggregation than they did earlier. There is increasing realisation that integrating information all the way from the machine (Level 0) to the ERP (Level 5) unlocks lot of value.

What are your growth plans for the near future?
We have already done projects in South East Asia and Middle East. Unlike products or services, exporting automation projects is a lot more complex as it involves mechanical, electrical, electronics, PLC/DCS, Software and a significant amount of pre-project engineering and design, integrating physically with the other OEM equipment bought by the customer. We intend to take on more such export projects for our growth.
