Walter Tools increases focus on India, appoints new MD

Bangalore, 27 January 2015 - At the IMTEX event, held between Jan 22-28, 2015 in Bangalore, Walter India has announced the appointment of Mr Ravishankar S as the new Managing Director of the Company with immediate effect. He is responsible for the overall growth of Walter businesses in India and drive operational excellence with an emphasis on growth strategies and developing people. He joined Walter India from Yamazaki Mazak India Pvt Ltd, where he held a similar role. He has more than three decades of experience in cutting tools and machine tools.

The company also exhibited its latest developments in drilling, milling, turning and threading with the motto "Engineering Kompetenz" at Walter Booth, IMTEX 2015. This German-English phrase represents the demand to always offer the best solutions for the machining requirement worldwide. The new range of innovative products on display included high performance DC170 solid carbide drills and M4000 range milling cutters.

Salient features include:

  • DC 170 Range - Available in the lengths of 16xDc and 20xDc, this innovative range ensures lower manufacturing costs by providing higher parameter combined with longer tool life, higher hole quality and more process reliability, and
  • M4000 Range - With new indexable inserts used in three different types of milling cutters and master many common milling operations, M400 range offsets as much as 100% of CO2 emissions.
