Texas Instruments has officially opened its new product research and development (R&D) centre in Bengaluru, marking 40 years of the company’s presence in India. Spread across 550,000 square feet, the state-of-the-art facility features collaborative workspaces dedicated to developing advanced chip designs.

The centre houses an end-to-end reliability laboratory with advanced testing capabilities across diverse environmental conditions, along with multiple integrated circuit design labs.

The facility was inaugurated by Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister for Railways; Information & Broadcasting; Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India, along with TI leadership. The new centre reflects TI’s strategic focus on advancing semiconductor innovation and nurturing design talent. It reinforces the company’s commitment to developing analog and embedded processing technologies, while supporting India’s growing design ecosystem and customer base.

Congratulating the company, Ashwini Vaishnaw said, “TI has been a pioneer in India’s semiconductor journey and a consistent contributor to nurturing the country’s design talent ecosystem. This expanded investment strengthens India’s position as a global hub for semiconductor design and development, and aligns with our vision of building an innovation-led nation.”

Santhosh Kumar, President and Managing Director, TI India, said the milestone reflects the company’s long-standing commitment to India and its future. He noted that TI India’s product development and design teams drive research and innovation for customers worldwide, with engineers playing a central role in advancing next-generation semiconductor technologies.

TI was the first multinational company to establish an R&D centre in India in 1985 and has played a key role in shaping the country’s semiconductor landscape over the past four decades. With thousands of employees in India, the company continues to expand its footprint. TI has recently opened an additional sales office to strengthen customer engagement, while the new R&D facility further enhances its innovation capabilities in the region.
