The Indian Space Research Organisation is conducting a Technology Transfer Workshop on November 20, 2014 (1400 hrs -1530 hrs) at BIEC, Bengaluru.

Indian space industry, over the past several years, has made significant forays in the fields of telecommunications and broadcasting and application of space technology in the areas of telemedicine and tele-education. Association of more than 300 small, medium and large scale industries which has been a key feature of space industry partnership and is a result of gradual nurturing of the symbiotic relationship over the past years. Active cooperation in the form of procurement control, know-how transfers and provision of technical consultancy has enabled the Space Agency to meet the increasing challenge of advanced technology and handling complex manufacturing jobs.

Technologies developed in-house which have potential requirements either for buyback or non-ISRO market are licensed to industries on non-exclusive basis, for commercial production. Over 300 technologies have already been transferred to industry that includes Distress Alert Transmitter, Automatic Weather Station, IGIS Software, ASIC based Demodulator, C and Ku band Receivers, Invar Demux filters for communication payloads; INSAT MSS Type C Terminal and Hub, etc.

The programme aims to create a commercial pathway to deliver technologies developed by ISRO for appropriate commercial markets for use in civilian products and services including the sell back to ISRO. This programme will be the first initiative of an industry association and space agency to spinout several of ISRO's technologies for appropriate commercial markets.

This Technology Transfer Workshop will be an absolute opportunity for across industry participation to assess, understand and further develop on the technologies made available by space agency. The programme will provide unique opportunity to understand, explore and evaluate the opportunities available including the visit to related ISRO facilities.
