As part of its global expansion plan, Weland Solutions AB - the Swedish firm that provides solutions for warehouse management and logistics - has forayed into India by appointing the Pune-based A M Ecosystem Technologies Pvt Ltd as reseller in the country. “Weland Solutions is expanding in the global market, strengthening their position as a leading supplier of efficient and innovative solutions for warehouse management and logistics and is proud to announce a new reseller on the Indian market: A M Ecosystem,” said the company. A M Ecosystem targets companies within the automotive and automation segment.

Ambadas Sutar, CEO at A M Ecosystem, commented, “Compact Lift Wide/Heavy, Compact Double and other products from Weland Solutions are very modular and standardised to a great extent. We observe that the systems are almost maintenance free and work for years. The product is very customisable to match the customer´s needs.” A M Ecosystem chose to work with Weland Solutions since the company has clear goals and vision about what they want to achieve in the market. “The working strategy is clearly mapped for success and the Weland Solutions products have a great market in India,” said Ambadas Sutar.

Weland Solutions is constantly working on product development and strives to meet the future requirements for logistics and warehousing. Their rigorous routines guarantee efficient inventory management and products with long guarantees. Over the past few years, Weland Solutions has created customised solutions for companies such as Volkswagen, Tetra Pak, Koenigsegg, Bunzl Retail Supplies, Eurostar, Jensen Group, Bright Star Corporation, Tata Steel, Rolls Royce, Rimaster.

According to Alexander Ljungberg, Export Sales Manager at Weland Solutions, the company has high expectations on the cooperation with A M Ecosystem. “We feel the Indian market is promising with increasing technology level and numerous interesting industries prone to invest in reliable and inventive automation. We are mainly looking to be selling our reliable, high quality Compact Lift models in India,” he added.

Speaking about the demand drivers for Weland Solutions products in India, Alexander Ljungberg, said, “Our traditional customer base is manufacturing industry, automotive, government and aeronautics. The low level of customisation with the conventional VLM (vertical lift module) suppliers, offer opportunities in our wide variety of Compact lifts with accompanying infeed and extract solutions.”

Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) account for a major share in Indian manufacturing sector. Weland Solutions is eyeing to tap this section as well. Ljungberg explained, “We see the increasing need for automated picking aids in the SMEs segment being most promising. The Weland Solutions Compact Lifts, with Compact Store WMS and Pick to Screen being a seriously value for money investment even for smaller enterprises tan traditionally.”

In expansion mode
In 2019, Weland Solutions signed new cooperation agreements with retailers in Benelux, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and the Baltic States and with retailers in the Nordic countries, Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, the UK and Spain, Weland Solutions now covers the whole of Europe and are continuing their global expansion.

Björn Karlsson, CEO at Weland Solutions, said, “The goal is to get closer to the end customer in order to be a long-term partner and be able to offer even better service and support. Our strength is our high competence and responsiveness and that we are driven by creating new, customized solutions for our customers.”

Last year, Weland Solutions acquired the WMS (warehouse management system) Compact Store, a system with support for all the tasks that are part of normal warehouse management such as deliveries, compilation, prioritization and starting of picking orders, relocation and replenishment of items and inventory. With the right products in the right place, it is easy to streamline the entire production. Not only does it utilise the full warehouse space and obtain maximum storage volume on a minimal surface, but also increases the picking speed and secure storage management.

Rise in automation in logistics and warehousing presents new opportunities for Weland Solutions. Alexander Ljungberg said, “We thrive with the wide range of logistical challenges emerging from the modern business transformation. Our range of Compact Lift models, accompanied with Compact Store can be connected to almost any form of ERP/WMS (warehouse management system) and hence being a seamless integrated part to existing automation.”

Lack of manpower during COVID 19 pandemic has led to many companies looking to adopt automated solutions. Warehouse and logistics space is not an exception to this trend. “The COVID 19 situation has increased the need for dropshipping solutions (a method where retailer does not keep goods in stock, but supplies through a third-party) at a volume of producing companies, hence increasing the demand for Compact Lift, Store and especially the Pick to Screen solution, where any conventional off the shelf mobile Tablet or phone can be transformed to a successful picking aid,” added Ljungberg.
