SME Forum recognises Grind Master as ‘India’s Small Giant’

Grind Master Machines Pvt Ltd, metal finishing expert, was conferred the title ‘India’s Small Giant’ by India SME Forum, one of the largest organisations for SMEs in India. The title was presented at a program in Mumbai on 24th June 2016 by Shri Kalraj Mishra, Union Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the presence of Shri Prahlad Kakar and Shri Vinod Kumar of India SME Forum. The felicitation was followed by the launch of a Coffee Table book that featured the 40 select companies honoured with the ‘India's Small Giants’ in the field of machine tools.

The company has closed the first quarter FY16-17 booking more than 50% of its production for the entire fiscal. According to a statement issued by Milind Kelkar, CEO, the company is fully charged to exceed customer expectations on all the projects, and will soon be expanding its manufacturing facilities, adding around 100,000 sq ft of space at the Waluj, Aurangabad factory in Maharashtra. Grind Master also plans to build a dedicated facility for R&D. The envisioned Tech Centre will house labs and prototype building facility for the expanding team of creative and innovative engineers. To continue the spirit of entrepreneurship within the Grind Master Group, an Innovation Cell has been initiated that promotes concepts, ideas and even failures.

Grind Master specialises in metal finishing machines; deburring machines – for gears and castings; superfinishing and microfinishing machines – for transmission parts and engine components; robotic solutions – for various metal finishing and automation processes; and also provides consumables – coated abrasives and superfinishing films. The company has now added capabilities in grinding and finishing advanced materials such as titanium and nickel-cobalt and other hard alloys. This expertise is especially relevant for the growing aerospace and defense manufacturing industry in India. Grind Master also looks forward to taking on engineering challenges for Make in India and extend support in R&D, process development and finishing services for such advancements, according to its latest Newsletter.
